I don't understand the rationale for BCBS denying their own employees the same benefits it insures others for. I have a co-workers whose daughter is in the same situation. She works for them also, but they won't pay for her procedure, and she desperately needs it.
Be encouraged and keep it in prayer. You neve know what could change or happen.
